The best digital wedding invitations in 2026 come from four kinds of site: a free planning tool (Joy), guest-count pricing (Greenvelope, Paperless Post, Evite), do-it-yourself tools and subscriptions (Canva, Greetings Island, Riley & Grey) and designer studios with one price per wedding (Veiloria, The Digital Yes). Choose by guest count, languages and how much design you want done for you.

We make Veiloria, so read this knowing our bias; every fact below about another company is sourced to its own website and dated. This guide covers ten platforms: who each one suits, what it costs at 150 guests, what it leaves out, and five questions that settle the choice. If you are new to the format, start with what a digital wedding invitation is and how it works.

The short answer: the best site for each kind of couple

The best digital wedding invitation site is the one whose price model matches your guest list and whose design model matches how much work you want to do. A digital wedding invitation site is a service that lets you design, or commission, an invitation your guests open from a link, email or text, usually with an RSVP built in.

How we compared

We compared ten platforms on the facts each company publishes about itself, checked on 19 October 2026, and on nothing else. Where a company's own page didn't state something, we wrote "not stated", which is not the same as "not offered".

What we measured

  1. Price model: free, per guest, per guest-count tier, per wedding or subscription.
  2. Listed prices: in the currency published, never converted.
  3. RSVP: whether replies are collected inside the invitation.
  4. Animated opening: an envelope, seal or other moment before the details.
  5. Human designer: whether a person designs your invitation as part of the price.
  6. Languages: how many languages guests can read it in.
  7. Save the date: whether there is a digital one, and its price.
  8. Music: whether the invitation can play a song.
  9. Custom domain: whether it can live at your own address.

What we didn't

  • Design quality. Taste is yours, and every platform shows its designs before you pay.
  • Reviews, promotions and app-store prices. They change often; we used list prices on each website.
  • Paper. For that trade-off, see digital vs paper wedding invitations.

Our bias, stated plainly

Veiloria is our maison. So every platform gets a genuine "best for", our own demo and plan table stay inside our own entry, and every outside fact links to the page it came from. If a price has changed since 19 October 2026, the company's page is right; we re-check this guide every January.

The best digital wedding invitations at a glance: 10 platforms

Eight of the ten platforms charge by guest count, by subscription or not at all; only two charge one price per wedding with a designer included. The first table covers money, the second covers what guests see and do.

Best for a hand-designed, multilingual invitation: Veiloria

Veiloria is the best fit if you want an invitation designed by hand around your wedding, read by each guest in their own language, for one price that doesn't change with your guest count.

Our atelier works from 43 original designs, each with its own signature opening: a wax seal to tap, a veil to lift, an opera curtain to pull. Guests open one private link in any browser, with nothing to download and no account. Inside are your sections in your order (program, map, dress code, travel) and the RSVP.

What it costs and what's included

Three one-time plans: Essential $199, Premium $599 and Bespoke $999, or the equivalent in your currency. Every plan includes the RSVP (attendance, each guest's name and dietary needs, a song request), unlimited guests and sends, a QR code to print, proofs before anyone sees it, and free changes until the day on the same link.

Essential personalizes a design as it is (2 revision rounds, 2 languages). Premium redesigns it around your wedding, with your venue painted by hand on the cover (4 rounds, up to 3 languages, a matching Save the Date). Bespoke begins on a blank page (7 rounds, as many languages as you need). See the full plan comparison.

Where Veiloria is strong

  • Languages. Write it in any language; each guest reads theirs automatically, and Arabic and Hebrew run right to left. More in bilingual wedding invitations.
  • Music. Each design comes with an original theme, most composed for it. The live invitation plays your song or the theme when the order includes music (Premium, Bespoke, or Essential +$19).
  • A person, not an editor. Made by hand in 7–14 days, or 1–4 days with Express (+$99, Essential and Premium); Bespoke runs on a schedule agreed before work starts.
  • No per-guest arithmetic. Ten guests or a thousand, one price.

Where it may not suit you

  • It isn't free or instant. To send tonight, a do-it-yourself platform is faster.
  • 43 designs, not hundreds. Template platforms offer far more choice.
  • You share the link yourself (WhatsApp, email, a message or a printed QR code). With the guest list manager, included on Premium and Bespoke, the portal shows who hasn't replied.
  • Charged in US dollars. Other currencies are display prices.

Read what couples say on our reviews page. For where we sit in the wider luxury field, see our guide to luxury digital wedding invitations.

Best for a designer-led studio with one price per wedding: The Digital Yes

The Digital Yes is the closest model to Veiloria: a designer on every plan, one payment per wedding, priced in euros.

As listed on thedigitalyes.com/pricing on 19 October 2026:

  • Essential €175: "Your favorite template from our collection", 2 languages, 2 revision rounds, RSVP with a private guest dashboard, and an animated envelope with an initials wax seal.
  • Premium €575: a dedicated designer, a cover and interior redesign, a Save the Date included, video and music, up to 3 languages and 4 revision rounds.
  • Excellence €975: designed from scratch with editorial art direction, "any languages you need" and 7 revision rounds.
  • Extras: a Save the Date is €75 on its own or €49 with Essential; Express is +€85 for 1–4 days on Essential and Premium; standard delivery is 7–14 days on Essential and Premium, and Excellence follows a bespoke schedule.

Where it's strong: a designer on every plan, a "You'll-Love-It Promise", a collection of "30+ designs", and gift cards for a Save the Date or a full invitation.

What to check: an earlier copy of its llms.txt summary said "7–21 business days" and "up to three languages per invitation", against the pricing page's 7–14 days and "as many as you need" on Excellence. We couldn't reload that summary on 19 October 2026, so confirm timing and languages for your order with the studio.

For reference, Veiloria's euro display prices are €179, €539 and €899. With structures this close, decide on the designs, the languages and the openings; we compare the two line by line in Veiloria vs The Digital Yes.

Best for per-mailing pricing and RSVP tools: Greenvelope

Greenvelope is the best fit if RSVP tools matter most and you want a price set by the size of your guest list. Its FAQ dates the company to 2008.

As listed on greenvelope.com (page updated 17 Oct 2026, read 19 Oct 2026):

  • Single Mailing: one send, priced by guest count, stepping every 20 guests from $19 (up to 20) to $199 (up to 200), then $249 (up to 250), $374 (up to 500) and $499 (up to 1,000).
  • Annual Membership: unlimited mailings for a year, from $60 (up to 20 guests per mailing) to $755 (up to 1,000), with $225 covering mailings of up to 150.
  • Trial: a send to up to 10 people with no credit card.

Where it's strong: meal choices, plus-ones and custom questions; automatic reminders to guests who haven't replied; delivery by email, text or link; seating charts; your own MP3 as music; designs from "more than 150 independent designers"; and save the dates that collect mailing addresses.

What to weigh: a save the date and an invitation are two mailings. Guest pages come in five languages (English, Spanish, German, French, Dutch). You choose a design or upload your own; many designs offer a designer's color changes for a fee.

Greenvelope's closest rival on price model is Paperless Post; our Paperless Post vs Greenvelope comparison runs the numbers side by side.

Best for designer-brand stationery online: Paperless Post

Paperless Post is the best fit if you want a recognizable designer name on your invitation and pay-as-you-go pricing. Its homepage, read on 19 October 2026, features collections from Oscar de la Renta, Rifle Paper Co., John Derian, Sugar Paper and others.

As listed on paperlesspost.com/pricing on 19 October 2026:

  • Per guest, per event (paid in Coins): Free $0, Basic $0.50, Premium $1.05, All Access $1.44 at 50 guests; the calculator charges less per guest on longer lists (Premium: $120 for 150, $175 for 250).
  • Free allowance: the first 50 invitations sent directly by email or phone number are free with the free designs and features.
  • Paperless Pro subscription: $250 a year for 250 annual guests, or $400 for 500. Each guest counts once per event.

Where it's strong: envelopes, liners and backdrops on Premium; RSVP tracking, guest questions and messaging; paper versions through a partnership with Paper Source; and "Personal design services" linked from the site.

What to weigh: cost rises with every guest and every event. Music and invitation languages are not stated on the pricing page. See wedding invitation cost per guest for the arithmetic.

Best familiar party option: Evite

Evite is the best fit for a casual or smaller wedding where guests already know the brand and you want a flat, low price. Its designs and blog lean toward parties, so treat it as a general invitation tool rather than a wedding specialist.

As listed on Evite's help center on 19 October 2026, Premium packages are priced by guest list:

PackageGuestsPrice
SilverUp to 12$17.99
GoldUp to 30$36.99
PlatinumUp to 75$68.99
DiamondUp to 750$99.99
Evite Pro (annual)Up to 2,500 per invitation$249.99

Where it's strong: a free tier with read receipts and a shareable link; Premium removes ads and adds "animated effects and reveals", envelopes and a host photo gallery. At 150 guests, Diamond costs less than Greenvelope or Paperless Post Premium.

What to weigh: free invitations carry ads. Languages, music and design services are not stated.

Best free wedding website with RSVP: Joy

Joy is the best fit if your budget for invitations is zero and you also want a wedding website. Its pricing page says "Joy is free to use" and lists, at $0 a month, a wedding website, unlimited guests, online RSVP, "Hundreds of Digital Invites", a mobile app and multiple editor accounts.

How it stays free: Joy says it earns from registry items it sells, vendor connections and optional upgrades (custom domains, text messaging, premium designs).

Where it's strong: website, invitation, save the date, guest list and RSVP in one place, with unlimited custom RSVP questions and multiple events per its invitations page.

What to weigh: you design it yourself; premium-design prices, guest languages and music are not stated on the pages we read. If the RSVP is the part you care about most, our guide to digital wedding invitations with RSVP lists the questions worth asking on any platform.

Best free save the dates plus a website: Zola

Zola is the best fit for couples who want free digital save the dates and a free wedding website, and plan to send paper invitations. Zola's own FAQ is explicit: "At this time we do not offer digital invitations" (zola.com/faq, read 19 Oct 2026).

Where it's strong:

  • Digital save the dates, listed as free on its save the date shop.
  • A free wedding website with "over 600 templates", RSVPs, registry, password protection and a custom domain from $17.99 (or redirect one you own).
  • A mobile app for planning.

What to weigh: the formal invitation must be paper or come from another service. Our guide to when to send wedding invitations covers the gap between the two sends, and digital save the dates covers the first one.

Best for a subscription website with invitations: Riley & Grey

Riley & Grey is the best fit if the wedding website is the centerpiece and you'd rather pay a membership than per guest. As listed on rileygrey.com/pricing on 19 October 2026:

  • Free to build: design the website and invitations without a card; pay only to publish.
  • Membership: $39 a month or $299 a year, including your custom domain.
  • Reserve plan: $39 one-time to hold a domain and aesthetic, credited to the membership later.

Where it's strong: digital save the dates and invitations are included ("They're free!"), with "no cost to send as many invitations as you'd like". Print-ready export, and the domain can be transferred to you.

What to weigh: you design it in its editor. Monthly billing adds up: twelve months at $39 is $468, against $299 for the year.

Best for designing it yourself: Canva

Canva is the best fit if you, or a friend, can design and you want complete control of the artwork. Its pricing page shows regional prices, so we don't quote one; check canva.com/pricing for yours.

Where it's strong: total freedom over layout, type and imagery.

What to weigh: an exported PNG, PDF or video is a fixed file, while a published Canva website can be updated and can hold an RSVP through an embedded form (Jotform). Greenvelope's FAQ also describes uploading artwork "made in Canva or by a stationer" to add its envelope and RSVP. For the full trade-off, read Canva vs custom digital wedding invitations.

Best low-cost do-it-yourself with RSVP: Greetings Island

Greetings Island is the best fit for a small outlay that still includes an RSVP. As listed on one of its invitation design pages on 19 October 2026: premium access is $3.49 a month, or $2.25 a month on a yearly plan, or you can buy a single design for $8.99.

Where it's strong: RSVP deadlines and guest limits, real-time tracking, and "unlimited guests, no signup required".

What to weigh: you design it yourself; languages, music and animation are not stated on the page we read.

What 150 guests cost on each

At 150 guests, the entry price of one invitation runs from $0 (Joy) to $299 (a year of Riley & Grey), with most paid options between $100 and $200; adding a save the date reshuffles the order. The arithmetic below uses each company's listed prices on 19 October 2026.

Three things to notice:

  1. Price your exact list. Paperless Post's calculator discounts as lists grow, so its totals here are its quotes, not rate × guests; Greenvelope charges the tier that covers everyone.
  2. The second send matters. Per-mailing and per-event models charge again for a save the date; both Premium plans include one.
  3. The per-guest cost of a flat price falls as your list grows. Veiloria Essential works out to $1.33 a guest at 150 and about $0.80 at 250.

How to choose in five questions

Answer these five questions in order and two or three platforms will remain.

  1. Do you want to design it, or have it designed? Design it yourself: Joy, Riley & Grey, Canva, Greetings Island, or the template side of Greenvelope, Paperless Post and Evite. Have it designed: Veiloria or The Digital Yes.
  2. How many guests, and how many sends? Under about 75 guests and one send, guest-count pricing is usually lowest. Past 200 guests, or with two sends, a flat price per wedding or a membership closes the gap.
  3. What languages do your guests read? One language: any platform works. Two or more: look for per-guest language detection (Veiloria) or multilingual plans (The Digital Yes). Greenvelope's guest pages come in five languages.
  4. Do you need a wedding website too? On a small budget: Joy or Zola. An invitation with sections (program, map, dress code, travel) can replace a separate site for many weddings.
  5. What should guests see first? If the opening matters (a seal, a curtain, a song), shortlist the platforms with animation and music in the second table and open their demos on your phone.

What Reddit threads ask before choosing

Reddit and Facebook threads rank near the top for these searches, and they keep raising the same four worries (our search research, October 2026):

  • "Is it tacky?" Not when it's designed with care and sent personally. Print a few copies for guests who prefer paper; more in are digital wedding invitations tacky?.
  • "Will my grandmother manage?" Pick a platform where guests need no app and no account, and test the link on an older phone. See digital invitations for older guests.
  • "What does it cost for 100 guests?" Use the scaling table above, and remember the second send.
  • "How do I collect addresses?" Greenvelope's save the date and Paperless Post's guest questions both collect mailing addresses.

Every Veiloria design has a live demo.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best website for digital wedding invitations?

There is no single best site, only the best fit for your price model: Joy if it must be free, Greenvelope for guest-count pricing with strong RSVP tools, and Veiloria or The Digital Yes for a designer and one price per wedding. Start with your guest count and whether you want to design it yourself.

What is the best digital wedding invitation app?

For couples, Joy and Zola both offer mobile apps alongside their free wedding websites. For guests, the best invitation needs no app at all: Veiloria, Greenvelope and Greetings Island all open from a link without guests creating an account.

What is the best free website for sending wedding invitations?

In this comparison, Joy is the free option that covers digital invitations: its pricing page lists $0 for a wedding website, unlimited guests, online RSVP and hundreds of digital invitation designs. Zola is free too, but only for digital save the dates, not invitations. Evite has a free tier, though free invitations show ads.

Is there something better than Paperless Post?

That depends on what you want to change: the pricing, or who designs the invitation. If per-guest pricing is the issue, Greenvelope prices by guest-count tier and Veiloria charges one price per wedding with unlimited guests. If you want something designed for you rather than a template, Veiloria and The Digital Yes include a designer on every plan. If designer-brand stationery matters most, Paperless Post's collections are its strength.

Does Zola do digital wedding invitations?

No. Zola's own FAQ says "At this time we do not offer digital invitations", checked 19 October 2026. It offers free digital save the dates and a free wedding website with RSVP, and suggests customizing a digital save the date to look like an invitation.

Which digital invitation sites charge per guest?

Paperless Post charges per guest per event, from $0.50 (Basic) to $1.44 (All Access) at 50 guests and less per guest on longer lists, as listed on 19 October 2026. Greenvelope and Evite charge by guest-count tier, so the price steps up as your list grows. Veiloria and The Digital Yes charge one price per wedding, and Joy's core tools are free.

Which digital wedding invitation site supports the most languages?

Veiloria and The Digital Yes both offer as many languages as you need on their top plans (The Digital Yes per its pricing page). Veiloria shows each guest the invitation in their own language automatically, with built-in guest wording in eight languages and right-to-left layout for Arabic and Hebrew. Greenvelope's guest pages come in five languages; the other platforms here don't state language support on the pages we checked.
