Most digital wedding invitations cost between $0 and about $1,000. Free tools cost nothing, per-guest services charge up to about $1.44 a guest (roughly $85 to $100 for 100 guests), and invitations designed by a person cost one price per wedding: at Veiloria, $199, $599 or $999 once, however many guests you invite.

Below: the three ways services charge, real totals for 50 to 500 guests, and what moves the price. We make Veiloria, so read this knowing our bias; every outside price is linked and dated (checked 19 October 2026).

How much do digital wedding invitations cost? The short answer

A digital wedding invitation costs $0 on a free tool, about $1 a guest on a per-guest service, and about $200 to $1,000 as a one-price invitation designed by a person. A digital wedding invitation is an invitation guests open on their phone from a link, usually with the day's details and an RSVP inside; our guide to digital wedding invitations covers the format itself. "Online" and "electronic" invitations are the same thing, so the same ranges apply.

What you pay depends on how the service charges, whether a person designs it, and which extras you add. To choose a service, see our comparison of the best digital wedding invitation sites.

The three ways digital invitations are priced

Every digital invitation service charges in one of three ways: nothing up front, by the size of your guest list, or once per wedding. Subscriptions are a variation on the second.

Free and freemium

Free services earn money elsewhere, from registries, print or upgrades. Joy lists itself at "$0/mo" with online RSVP and "hundreds of digital invites" (withjoy.com/pricing). Zola's digital save the dates are free, but its own FAQ says it does not offer digital invitations (zola.com). Paperless Post's free designs cost $0 per guest.

Per guest or per mailing

Paperless Post sells Coins: its calculator shows $0.50, $1.05 or $1.44 a guest for 50 guests, by design tier, and less per guest on longer lists, so a Premium design is $85 for 100 guests and $350 for 500 (paperlesspost.com/pricing). Bliss & Bone lists online invitations at $0.90 per recipient (blissandbone.com).

Greenvelope and Evite sell packages sized by list: a Greenvelope mailing is $99 for up to 100 guests and $249 for up to 250, in 20-guest steps up to 200 (greenvelope.com). Evite's Diamond package covers up to 750 guests for $99.99 (support.evite.com). Our post on wedding invitation cost per guest works through every list size.

One price per wedding

Studios that design the invitation for you charge once per wedding, whatever the guest count. The Digital Yes charges €175, €575 or €975 (thedigitalyes.com/pricing); Veiloria charges $199, $599 or $999. You pay for a designer's time, not for sends.

Digital wedding invitation prices at a glance

For 150 guests, expect $0 on a free tool, roughly $57 to $168 on a per-guest service, and about $200 to $1,000 for a designed invitation. All prices as listed on each company's site on 19 October 2026.

Per-guest prices look small until you multiply them. One invitation, sent once:

For a small list, a per-guest service costs less than any designed invitation, and Evite's package is hard to beat on price at any size. Against per-guest pricing, Essential costs less from about 200 to 300 guests, depending on the service, or sooner once you add a save the date, since that is a second send.

What changes the price of a digital invitation

The price of a digital invitation rises with design time, motion, illustration, music, languages, a save the date and speed. Our prices below are in USD, or the equivalent in your currency.

A person designing it

This is the largest factor. Doing it yourself is free; a designer personalizing an existing design (our Essential, $199) costs less than a redesign around your wedding (Premium, $599) or a blank page (Bespoke, $999).

Luxury wedding invitation cost on paper is a different scale. The Knot puts fully custom printed invitations and enclosure cards from a professional stationery designer at $4,000 to $7,000 for about 100 guests (theknot.com, updated 30 April 2026). Our guide to luxury digital wedding invitations covers what that budget buys on screen.

Animation and video

An animated cover adds $65 on our Essential plan and is included on Premium and Bespoke. A video file costs from nothing, made yourself in an app, to $180 for an animated wedding invitation video from Motion Stamp's catalog (motionstamp.com); its custom venue videos are $190 for the artwork plus $155 per animated slide, $655 with the three slides it recommends. A video plays the same for everyone; an animated invitation opens at a guest's touch and holds the RSVP.

Your venue illustrated

Your real venue painted by hand on the cover is $55, or $105 in the cover pack with animation and music. Premium includes it.

Music

A song that plays as guests open it is $19, included on Premium and Bespoke. Greenvelope's mailing price includes music, your own MP3 too.

Languages

Each language is another version to write and check. Our plans include 2 on Essential, up to 3 on Premium and as many as you need on Bespoke; each guest reads their own.

A Save the Date

On paper, couples spent an average of $150 on save the dates (The Knot 2026 Real Weddings Study). Digitally, Zola's are free, The Digital Yes charges €75 for one on its own, and Veiloria's matching Save the Date is $79 or included with Premium. More in our digital save the date guide.

Express delivery

Our standard time on Essential and Premium is 7–14 days from your complete details. Express (1–4 days) is $99 on those plans, refunded if we miss it; Bespoke follows a schedule agreed before work starts.

Are digital invitations cheaper than paper?

Digital invitations usually cost less than paper: US couples spent an average of $220 on printed invitations with RSVP cards and $510 on their full stationery suite, before postage (The Knot 2026 Real Weddings Study, 10,474 US couples married in 2025).

Hidden costs to ask about

The listed price is rarely the whole cost: ask what happens when your list grows, when you send twice, and when anything renews.

Per-guest fees

Late additions cost money: Greenvelope says guests beyond your package's capacity are an additional purchase. Check whether the price counts guests or households.

Subscriptions

Some services charge a subscription to keep your invitation or website live: Riley & Grey is $39 a month or $299 a year (rileygrey.com/pricing), and Paperless Pro is $250 a year for 250 annual guests. Paid monthly through a 14-month engagement, $39 a month comes to $546.

Domain renewals

Zola lists custom URLs from $17.99 (zola.com); ask whether a domain renews yearly and what guests see if it lapses. Veiloria's own-domain extra ($75, included on Bespoke) is kept live until after the wedding with no auto-renewal, and every invitation has a free names.veiloria.app address.

Sending limits

Free tiers and packages cap sends. Paperless Post's free tier covers your first 50 invitations sent directly, on its free designs and features; Greenvelope includes 500 text messages per paid account and sells more in blocks; Evite packages stop at their guest cap.

A second event

A welcome party, a mehndi or a farewell brunch usually means a second send, and so does a save the date: on Greenvelope, a save the date and an invitation to 100 guests are two $99 mailings, $198 in all. On Veiloria, an invitation for another event is $55 on every plan, Premium and Bespoke included.

Eight questions to ask before you pay

  1. Is the price per guest, per household, per mailing or per wedding?
  2. What happens to the price if I add 20 guests next month?
  3. Is the save the date a separate purchase?
  4. Is there a subscription, and does it renew automatically?
  5. Does the web address renew, and who owns it?
  6. Are texts, reminders or sends limited?
  7. Does a second event cost a second invitation?
  8. Can guests reply without an app or an account?

What Veiloria costs, line by line

Veiloria costs $199, $599 or $999 once per wedding, with unlimited guests, unlimited sends and the RSVP on every plan; prices are in USD, or the equivalent in your currency. There's no subscription and no per-guest fee.

What Premium adds is the redesign: your colors, icons made for your wedding, 4 rounds instead of 2, a third language and a dedicated designer. The Trousseau on our pricing page lays it out.

Three worked totals:

  • 80 guests, one language, invitation only: Essential, $199.
  • 150 guests, a save the date first, your venue on the cover: Essential with the Save the Date and the cover pack, $383; or Premium, $599, with the redesign.
  • A destination weekend in three languages with a welcome party: Premium plus another event, $654; add your own domain for $729.

Every row is on the full plan comparison; extras can be added later at the same prices.

Is a paid invitation worth it?

A paid invitation is worth it when your list is large, your guests read different languages, or you want a designer rather than a do-it-yourself tool; for a small, informal wedding, a free tool is enough.

Frequently asked questions

How much does a digital wedding invitation cost?

A digital wedding invitation costs from $0 to about $1,000. Free tools cost nothing, per-guest services charge up to about $1.44 a guest (roughly $85 to $100 for 100 guests), and one-price invitations designed by a person cost about $200 to $1,000, such as Veiloria's $199, $599 and $999 plans.

What is the average cost of digital wedding invitations?

No large survey publishes a digital average; The Knot's study measures paper. From list prices checked in October 2026, 100 to 150 guests costs roughly $85 to $160 on a per-guest service and about $200 to $600 for a designed one-price invitation. Printed invitations averaged $220.

Are digital wedding invitations cheaper than paper?

Usually, yes. US couples spent an average of $220 on printed invitations and $510 on the full stationery suite, before postage of $0.82 or more per envelope (The Knot 2026 study, USPS). A bespoke digital invitation can cost more than average paper, but far less than a custom printed suite.

Do digital invitations charge per guest?

Some do. Paperless Post and Bliss & Bone charge per recipient (Paperless Post's rate falls as the list grows), Greenvelope and Evite price packages by list size, and one-price studios charge once per wedding. Veiloria has no per-guest fees: every plan includes unlimited guests and sends.

How much does a digital save the date cost?

A digital save the date costs from $0 upward. Zola's are free, per-mailing services charge a second send priced by your list (Greenvelope: $249 for 250 guests), The Digital Yes charges €75 on its own, and Veiloria's is $79 or included with Premium and Bespoke. Printed save the dates averaged $150 in The Knot's 2026 study.

How much does a wedding invitation video cost?

A wedding invitation video costs from nothing, if you make it yourself in a video app, to around $180 for a catalog design from a studio such as Motion Stamp, or $655 for its recommended custom venue video (listed October 2026). A video plays the same for everyone; an animated web invitation can also hold the details and collect replies.
